Summary:
With Rambus' innovations such as MicroLens™ technology, designers can achieve efficient uniform brightness in edge-lit LED backlights. All the benefits, lower power, wider color gamut, and thinner form factors, of LEDs can be realized in the most cost-effective manner. In small form factor displays for mobile phones and portable consumer electronics, backlights can be implemented with just a single LED device. And in large displays for HDTVs, Rambus innovations can enable backlights that use fewer or less expensive LEDs than required for conventional edge-lit implementations.
